Sport
Encouraging our students to find a sense of community, enjoyment and belonging through sport
Perth College believes that keeping girls engaged in sports enhances their academic success and promotes healthy mental and emotional wellbeing.
We take a holistic approach to your daughter’s education to ensure she can achieve her personal best in all aspects of her development.
Interschool Sport
Senior School
As a member of the Independent Girls School Sports Association (IGSSA) WA, our students can compete in several interschool sports competitions throughout the school year.
Our Senior School sporting program focuses on sportsmanship and teamwork, and our students are encouraged to join and participate in the range of IGSSA teams listed below.
Junior School
In our Junior School, the Junior Independent Girls School Sports Association (JIGSSA) competitions and programs encourage students from Years 4 to 6 to have fun while trying a new sport.
Students in Years 3 to 6 participate in Interschool Summer and Winter Games with other JIGSSA schools. These are clinic style events where girls can learn new skills and develop their sportsmanship.
Rowing
At Perth College, rowing is not just a sport; it embodies the true spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. We were the first school in Western Australia to introduce an all-girls rowing program in 1981 and continue to be one of the top-performing IGSSA schools.
Our Learn to Row program allows new students to try rowing in a supportive environment. Through our Rowing program, girls can form new relationships and challenge themselves both physically and mentally, promoting personal growth and character development.
