Perth College students are proudly competing at the Australian Rowing Championships, held this week at Lake Barrington, Tasmania.
Twelve students, accompanied by two coaches, are taking part in events across multiple categories including:
- Under 17 Single Scull
- School Girl Double Scull
- School Girls Eight
- Under 19 Coxed Four
The team has trained for over six months, and their dedication is already showing. Day 1 highlights included a strong performance from Evie (Year 10) placing third in her single scull heat, followed by a determined double scull race with Stella (Year 10) where they came second.
Olivia and Macie (Year 11) also performed strongly in their double, while all crews have since raced in tough repechage rounds. Evie has now progressed to the quarter finals in the U17 Single Scull, and she and Stella are through to the semi-finals in the double.
Also competing is Ellsie (Year 12) who represents Perth College and her club in multiple events, including the Victoria Cup (Women’s Lightweight Quad) as part of the WA State team.
We’re also proud of several Perth College Old Girls representing WA:
- Lara Glendinning (2016) – Victoria Cup & Queen’s Cup
- Izzy Emery (2017) – Victoria Cup
- Mia Williams (2018) – Coaching the Bicentennial Cup crew
- Zoe McKellar (2019) – Queen’s Cup
- Isabella Edinger (2022) – Bicentennial Cup
Congratulations to all rowers for their incredible efforts. We are following their progress with great pride and cheering them on every stroke of the way!
