Why choose Perth College?

A Supportive and Community Focussed Boarding House for Girls

Perth College is nestled in the heart of Mount Lawley and is one of Perth’s best Anglican all-girls boarding schools, providing boarders with a secure and nurturing environment that feels like a second home. Each year, we welcome students from across Western Australia and beyond. Our boarding program is tailored to meet the needs of these students, ensuring that they thrive socially, academically, and personally.

Feels like Home

Our independent boarding school is designed with comfort and community in mind. The girls live in one of three houses—Rosalie, Karina, and Emily—all named after the founding Sisters of the School. Each house accommodates students from Years 7 to 12, creating a family-like environment where older students mentor and support the younger ones. Our dormitory structure ensures that girls in Years 7 and 8 share rooms to encourage socialisation, while girls in Year 9 and above enjoy private rooms for focused study and personal space.

We understand that parents want the best for their daughters, which is why we’ve invested in exceptional facilities. Our modern, well-appointed rooms, common areas, and dining spaces provide every student with a comfortable place to live and learn. Each boarder is encouraged to personalise her room with photos, plants, or decorations, making her space truly her own.

Perth College can be home to 110 boarders from all over WA. Many families exploring girls’ boarding schools with scholarships also find Perth College a supportive option, with boarders joining us from across WA and beyond. Currently, this includes students from as far north as Kununurra, south to Albany, east to Kalgoorlie, and international boarders from China, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. Some day students also choose to board for the structure and sense of community it offers, even though they live nearby. With multiple sets of twins, many siblings, and cousins, our Boarding House truly has a welcoming, family-like atmosphere.

Caring and Experienced Staff

Our dedicated Boarding Team is at the heart of the Perth College boarding experience. The Head of Boarding, Assistant Head of Boarding, and Heads of Year are joined by a caring group of boarding supervisors, pastoral staff, and academic support tutors. Unlike many other schools, our unique structure ensures a highly experienced and senior team is always on duty. We pride ourselves on having a senior staff member from our boarding leadership team on every shift, meaning there is always someone on hand who is well-informed about each student’s needs. In addition, our on-site Health Centre is staffed during school hours by registered nurses to ensure any health concerns are promptly addressed. After hours, the nurse is available to call, providing your daughter with the best possible care and support.

Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

We take a holistic approach to education, placing a strong emphasis on wellbeing and pastoral care. Our boarders benefit from individualised support, which is vital for their emotional and social development. Regular house meetings create opportunities for students to voice concerns, celebrate achievements, and discuss upcoming activities. Our staff build close, trusting relationships with students, guiding them through challenges and supporting their growth.

Perth College is committed to ensuring each boarder feels safe, supported, and valued. With small student-to-staff ratios and a dedicated Head of Year our team can focus on the individual needs of each girl, helping her to navigate the challenges of adolescence and boarding life.

  • Coming to Perth College as a new boarder was a big step for me, but I quickly realised it would be some of the most exciting years of my life.
